The battery

The battery A battery is a device placed inside the system unit for providing direct current electricity this battery how was the clock and date it is the current from this battery that  keeps the timer and calendar running even when the computer is switched off .

The power -supply unit

THE POWER -SUPPLY UNIT The components of a personal computer needed 5 volt and 12 volt voltage current supply since they needed low voltage current A device which converts high voltage current to voltage current is required this device is called power supply using it is placed inside the system unit

Main Memory

MAIN MEMORY Main or primary memory is one of the most important parts of a computer it is determined the amount of data that it can be stored in the computer as well as the amount of data can be processed it can be classified as given below 1. RAM 2. ROM

RAM

RAM RAM stands for Random Access Memory it is also known as read and write memory all information can be written 12 and read from Ram it holds the data temporally as long as the power is not cut off interrupted while working on a computer.

ROM

ROM ROM stands for read only memory it holds data permanently but information can only be read and not written on to Rome Rome for the Information Bulletin need this information comprises programs and other instructions required to execute programs on the system.

The control unit

The control unit The control unit control everything that happens inside the computer it also features data from the memory sends it to a l u for processing and then send through the process the data back to the memory. all the Arithmetic and logical problems are solved in ALU (Arithmetic /Logic Unit),which is part of the computer.

The input output ports

The input output port s A port is an interface through which data is transferred between your computer and other devices like a printer, Mouse, keyboard, or monitor ports are today's serial port and parallel ports the serial port The parallel port depends on the mode of data transmission The parallel port is used when data is transmitted power parallel finish for example a printer is used on a parallel port If the data is sent over the serial signals a signal port is used for example the most is connected through a serial port

The hard disk

The hard dis k It is a mass storage magnetic medium that uses a rigid material disc for mass storage updater there may be only one hard disc or more than 1 in the system unit In the hard disk we have several types like 250 GB and 500gb and also one terabyte.

CD drive

CD drive A CD drive is an electro mechanical devic e that can read a compact dis k

The video card

The video card A video card is a electronic component that generates the video signal send to through a cable to the monitor it is also called video editor it cleans the Computer memory to the monitor

The expansion slot

The expansion slot The expansion slot is a socket in a computer, designed to hold the expansion board and any connect them to the system bus or data pathway expansion slots are the means for adding enhancing the computer features and capabilities

Integrated circuits

Integrated circuits An integrated circuit is a circuit in which some transistors are fabricated any single piece of semiconductor material it is a group of electronic components like a transistors resistors and capacitors connected by means of voice it is also called the ship computers are rebuild using two kinds of IC chips they are Logic chips Memory chips

Logic chips

Logic chips Logic chips are used in the arithmetic logic unit where calculations are carried out

Memory chips

Memory chips are used to in the memory to hold data and instructions Things to remember The system unit is the main part of the computer because CPU is placed inside it The motherboard is a printed circuit board or PCB where are all the electrical circuits are printed The power supply unit is a device which converts high voltage current to voltage current required by the components of PC Main memory determine the amount of data that can be stored in the computer as well as the amount of data that it can process

Unix

Unix This is a very powerful operating system with a wide spectrum of powerful features it was developed in 1969 by a group of a t and T employees at Bell Labs, and since then it is under constant development high level of security and regulated access to data are the main features of the operating system most of the high-level organisations use the operating system it is a stable, multiuser, multitasking Operating System this operating system also has graphical user interface similar to Microsoft Windows which system offers and easy to use environment Unix operating system was initially developed in assembly language in the year of 1973 Darwin program was recorded in C language the main objective behind this shift was that to make Unix move too many different computers today Unix is available on the devices such as personal computer workstation mainframe and supercomputer

Multitasking Operating System

Multitasking Operating System The ability to perform more than one task at a single instant of time is called multitasking and operating system which is capable of doing multiple tasks are processes while using common processing resources like a CPU is it called multitasking Operating System today most of the operating systems fall under this technology for examples Unix, Windows XP, Windows 7 Windows 8, Windows 8.1 to Windows 10

Multi user operating system

Multi user operating system Multi user operating system allows more than one user to use the same computer at the same time are different times some of the operating systems with fall in the category of Linux Unix, Microsoft Windows 2000 Windows 2000 was the first version of Windows which allowed to create several user accounts on a single machine

Single user operating system

Single user operating system Single user operating system easy in Shell version of operating system when the concepts of multithreading and multiuser work to be exploited properly this operating system can support only one user at a time the most popular single user operating system or Microsoft Windows 3.1, Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft DOS.

Graphical user interface

Graphical user interface(GUI ) This operating system is Graphic based and interactive in nature the comments were replaced by the graphics number displayed on the computer screen the user can do all operations by clicking at these graphical symbols. No user does not need to c r a m the lengthy comments on their syntax as they had to do in character user interface example of gui are Windows 98 Windows XP Windows 7 Windows 8 Windows 8.1 Windows 10 etc.

Computer software

Computer software Computer software is a set of programs that make the hardware perform a set of task in particular order hardware and software are complementary to each other both have to work together to produce mean full results computer software is classified into two broad categories system software and application software . System software System software consists of a group of programs that control the operations of a computer equipment including functions like managing memory managing peripherals loading store in and an interface between the application programs and the computer MS Dos Microsoft disc operating system and also Unix are examples of system software. Software that can perform a specific task for the user such as the word processing accounting budgeting or payroll fall under the category of application software word processor spreadsheets database management system are all examples of general purpose application software.
